Okay usually this would be dinner at this time 5:20am as I work nightshift, however as I’m off for three nights I can’t use that excuse and have to call it breakfast like the rest of the world.

So here in all her glory one peppered sirloin steak, 15 onion rings and two bottles of Robinsons Iron Maiden Trooper.

Kinja'd!!!

The Trooper is a refreshing ale with quite a citrusy taste leaving behind a strong yet pleasant citrus aftertaste. I can see why it’s become quite popular of late.

That looks delicious. Now I’ve gotta go and try that Ale. Saw it a few times at the local grocery store but never thought to try it.

It’s rather good. I’d say quite similar to Old Speckled Hen with a bit more aftertaste.

Can’t beat steak and onion rings unless you add mash potato and peppercorn sauce.

Oh my, I LOVE Old Speckled Hen. Sadly there’s only one pub around where I live that has it on tap.

It's just as good out a bottle. At asda they have four bottles for £5 or a case of 6 for £8.

Well I guess that means I have to stop by the local alcohol specialty store tomorrow and see if they have it. I live in California so it’s a little hard trying to find Old Speckled Hen and Fuller’s around here.

Fella. You’d be drinking a different ale everyday and it’d take you a couple of years or so before you got round to starting them all over again. Just found a place that does the kegs of Thwaites Wainwright, Marston’s Pedigree (love this stuff), Jennings Cumberland Ale (my home county), Bitburger Premium, Wychwood Hobgoblin, Adnams Southwold Bitter and Budvar Lager.

Ketchup with the rings? I cant do onion rings without ketchup, it goes so good that way! Might be sacrilege to some people though lol.

I know how that goes! I worked morning towers on and of for a little bit but my dinner breakfasts weren’t as nice as yours. They stayed out ok for a bit but by the end of the week when I had run out of groceries the last day or two would devolve into whatever nasty thing the gas station had on the way home.

Lol. Actually I did do lines of ketchup over the rings but non on the steak.

I often resort to what ever gets under my hands when I put them in the fridge or cupboard.

Old speckled hen is one of the only beers that I was unable to force myself to drink.

After cleaning four cars today. I went out and bought eight cars of Old Speckled Hen and the first pint went down like I was breathing air, the second is taking a little longer but I’m already eyeing the third.

Though asking an English man to have a drink on them is like asking an Irish man, It’s a given.

If someone is putting ketchup on steak, something is horribly wrong with that steak! But I bet people do it. If I was a restaurant owner, I would definitely be offended by someone asking for ketchup with a steak lol.

I’ve put salsa on a steak in an Italian restaurant (called a Mexicana). But ketchup with steak is wrong especially if it’s flavoured with peppercorns or such.

Well yeah salsa is a bit better than ketchup in that regard haha. I don’t have anything against ketchup and I put A LOT on most things, but steak is a line I do not cross. Salsa actually sounds pretty good, maybe some guacamole too!

No. Warm salsa, lightly cooked onions and green peppers with a salsa sauce work so very well with steak (plain steak).

Ketchup is one of those generic condiments that work so well with food but when eating something so nice like a good steak, seems to be wrong even though really nothing is wrong.
